Shift Star - Design Change
...been waiting for this to happen. Did you get your bike new or used?
If this came from the factory with the upgraded part, this reinforces my opinion that it was a good idea to change this out.
It must have come from the manufacture with the newer part.
I still think it's worthwhile to pull the cover and see what you've got in there.
Quick question....do you HAVE to remove the front sprocket to change it....or can you get the cover off with ratcheting wrenches? I have an 09 and I want to replace it if it is the junky style....Thanks!!!
Yes, you have to remove the front sprocket.
The parts are in stock and I'm about to delve into replacing the shift star since it won't shift past second. The little metal stub that broke off should be easy to find? Can it work its way into the transmission cavity? Hate to have it wander into somewhere it can do more harm..... TIA Mike
