Default Shift Levers

Can anybody tell me what bikes' shift levers will also fit the '09+ KLX250S and be approximately the same size/length? I pretzelized mine on a ride two weekends ago and want to replace it, but Kawi wants $50 for a stock one. I've managed to bend/twist/hammer it back into a usable shape, but I'd still like to replace it (and get a spare).

Not the answer your fishing for, but I keep using the stock bendomatics because the shift shaft is so small and wimpy. Would rather bend the shifter than the shaft. I made a template of the new stocker to facilitate getting them back in shape, and also use a homegrown brake snake on the shift lever.

Hey Rob, not sure what fits out bikes, but one thing I am sure of, Lever guards are worth their weight in silver. Notice I didn't say worth their weight in gold because that would be kookie talk. LOL

Edited because I just realized you were talking about the foot lever not the hand levers. DOH!!!! I need more COFFEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

eBay!!! I picked up an OEM brake pedal for $15, shipped. I'm sure the shift lever would be just as cheap.

+1

I would rather trash the shift lever than the actual shaft coming out of the transmission.

I'm not looking for a stronger shifter, just a cheaper one. And this time I think I'll put one of those "saver" cables on it to maybe keep it from bending, at least as much.

650 gear will work, but the lenght is different. I got one when I was in Moab last year, bent the original one back in place and put it back on when I got home to the shop.

did you feel it was too long? size 10 boots here oem works for me.

the klx shifts with a long throw compared many other dirtbikes, so I avoided trying the longer lever
