Great choice. I was lucky enough to ride a mates during a two day ride recently. It felt more nimble than a 450exc I just swapped from with really smooth motor and suspension, so much power to the ground. After a some sandy berm open sections I was trying to decide to wether to sell the house, missus/kid or the klx to fund the purchase.

The TE630 too much like a big bore version of the klx. Great for a dual sport but the 570 is a weapon in comparison.

On road cost in Australia is almost double that. Mate got long range tank, barkbusters, bashplate etc for $17,000 ride away.

I just bought my second bike today. actually i sold 2 bikes and bought one.
I sold the 250's (Hondas) and bought a DR 650 for my 80/20 street/trail bike.
Over the winter it will get a 780cc big bore. I get a funny feeling just thinking about it!!
Ha Ha.. gotta love big bores!!!!

Keep us up to date on how you like the new bike. I'd like to see how someone has mounted a top box, luggage, or panniers on a 570 but in all my reading have never seen it done. That would be the ultimate dual sport.

Why did you choose the DR over a KLR? I've been looking for a more street worthy, longer distance bike. Lots more KLRs for sale here than DRs.

Edit: Oops! I guess I didn't read the thread real closely. Just figured out that you bought a Husaberg. Because it was the second post, I thought some other guy was saying he bought a Husaberg. Anyway, congrats on you new bike. I do like exotic bikes, and those definitely qualify. I guess I'll go ahead and leave my comments below anyway....

Well my #1 vote is for the TE630, but then take a look at my signature and you'll know why! I love my Husky! It is so much fun to ride, and has tons of power. I'm real happy with my newly installed 351 kit on the KLX, but it cannot touch the Husky. The Huksy has so much torque that it would wheelie super easy, if I could ride a wheelie. I use my SM610 for traveling as well, and it's been great. I rode it on a 1200 mile trip, and several other trips in the 500-700 mile range.

My 2nd choice would be the KTM690. I'd like to have one myself, but they're pretty spendy. I think the Husky is a better value. Plus I've read about some fuel injection issues on the KTM690 that would make me shy away, but maybe that was just the earlier models...not sure.

Anyway, enjoy you're second bike. It's the only way to go!
