Scat finally breaks something
Went out with Scott(Scat) today for the first time. This was my first ride with another KLX and the first I've seen of any of the performance mods on another bike. Wow, does my bike need some work. Scott's suspension feels so nice compared to my tightened down stock spirngs which is still way too soft. At 235 lbs, I finally realize just how bad I need to get some stiffer springs, and some taller handle bars are also in order.
We were out at the Reiter trails outside of Goldbar, WA. We first went up a switchback that provided a some nice views. Scott was so excited he even decided to pose in one:

Then on our way down, we took an ill advised little detour. Scott's in there somewhere:

We were only hoping at the bottom of this there would be another way out, because going back up what we went down would not have been any fun. Fortunately, we found a way out, though the bridge we had to cross has seen much better days. I didn't get a pic of it but Scott might have.
The last stop was a cliff overlooking the town of Index. On the way up, Scott's rear left turn signal broke off at the welds. Apparently, his first broken part. This same break happened on my bike 2 days ago and I was scrambling on Monday to find some flush mounts. No fear of heights allowed to pose for this pic. The drop goes straight down something like 500 feet.

It was a great day to be out and even better having someone to go with. Thanks for showing me around Scott! I'm gonna play around with the 45 tooth gearing but so far, I like!

Wow great riding there, bummer about the turn signal. Mine are pretty flimsie on the rack as many others have said also, I figure it's only a matter of time before they go. My buddy has a welder so maybe I'll be proactive and strengthen them before they break.
Man I am jealous! I am from eastern WA but stationed in flat *** Texas! I miss all the mountains and foot hills and trees. Hey, do you happen to have the PN for the 45 tooth you have? Great pictures!
Thanks, Brian
Thanks, Brian
MAN, You guys are Sooooooo freaking lucky.
I live in Tampa so there are no mountains arounds us like that And to get to any real offroad places is like an hour drive. Needless to say I may never get my bike offroad unless I load it in the truck and drive someplace. To be able to just hop on the bike and get to places like that in 15-20 minutes. Well, lets just say I'm Very Jealous and we will leave it at that. You Lucky Dogs.......

Hey Scat, what is that gesture? We did it on the Poker Run and I just went along with it, I hope it doesn't mean something really bad.

15-20 minutes? Well let's just say I have 100's of miles of fire roads, trails and forest service roads all starting 2 miles from town. So 15-20 minutes would be a long commute for me, and speaking of commutes, in my 1.7 mile commute to work today, it was brutal, I actually saw two cars

Well then your pretty lucky too. to beable to jump on the bike and ride just a few miles and be in the back woods would kick butt. I live in a city of about a million plus people when you include all the surronding towns. Of course we do have one thing in common and that is the distance from work. I'm like 2 miles away. People get sooo pissed when I tell them my commute gas bill is about 5 bucks every two weeks.
Around here the only places I know of is a place called Crum which is over run with quads and the trails suck, woopde woos and potholes/ruts. No real nice trails that I know of. I here Ocala national forest is nice but never been there. Below is another link to a place I found. Looks interesting to me, I will take the bike there once i do all the mods.
