Welcome, now read the FAQ sticky thread.
Probably cheaper to just remove the stock snorkle, or remove the airbox lid entirely. Jetting ..... yes. Stock setup is lean.....performance results = NULL unless you free up the exhaust.

I've been wondering about the KDX snorkle deal. Coming from many past KLR's and XR's that had side doors, we usually just drilled out holes or cut a pattern in the "top" of the airbox. Since the access door/lid was on the side, it seemed that water entry would be easier and more catastrophic on those bikes. With drilled or cut airbox tops on KLR's and XR's, I don't think water was a big issue. That's a long way up there. It would appear the same on the KLX to me. The PO just had the OEM lid and snorkel in a parts box. I'm thinking of enlarging the hole and keeping the hole more to the center of the lid which might help a tiny bit more for splash entry, but it's probably not a big deal. The snorkel seems redundant, but then I recall someone mentioning a sound issue. Mine already has an aftermarket pipe, and while not loud, I can't really hear any annoying intake noise. People's hearing and sensitivity vary a good bit, however.
