Where I headed,Mount Mansfield from Pleasant Valley.

The end of the line on the Notch Road (VT 108). Very popular route with the cruiser bike crowd and the 'leaf-peepers' (tourists) in the summer and fall, but it's closed for the winter.

In the upper parking lot at Smuggler's Notch. They're closed, but there's still plenty of snow.

I think I need to see how far up I can get (it's steeper and muddierthan it looks).

Overall, a great ride. Whoever said, "The first few rides of the spring are the best" was definitely right on!

Nice, looks like you might need an ice tire or a paddle tire to go further.

Awesome,
I Know first hand about how the elevation looks like crap only on pics tho
but trying to ride on snow & mud is guaranteed failure with street tires at least for me anyhow!!
Looks nice tho

I know I need to get a life, and my wife is always giving me the eye. Oh and I always wanted to try a snowmobile I bet that would be fun.....until you ran into a rock or a stump.[&:]

Snowmobiles are a whole different ride, for sure. BUT, they sure are a lot of fun. I have 3 I spend a lot of time in the winter on them, either in Vermont or in Maine. They all put away now for summer, waiting for the new klx to show up. Hope its here on Monday.
