Ride report
I posted a short notice ride invite awhile back. I dont know if any of you saw it but we went and had a great time riding the Idaho Montana border road. I went with my stock gas tank (Yikes!!) and packed 2 20oz. fuel bottles. Not enough. I was on vapors and 25 miles left to camp. My riding buddy John wrote the bulk of the ride report and I chimed in later with my two cents. Here is the link. http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=164352. Join us next year, I would love to ride with onother KLX. It was sometimes hard to keep up with my buddy's KTM 525exc, but it was fun trying.

Hey Ryan, I have to say that was the best write up and picture display of a ride report.......EVER!!!!! Thanks for sharing that with us, man I wish I could do a ride like that.[sm=smiley20.gif][sm=smiley32.gif]
Great ride report and photos, Ginsu - that's great stuff. I'm not sure I'd want to test that Glock on a real moose, though - more than likely it would just make it mad.
Love those tunnel photos. How'd the KLX do there? What elevation were you? Any carb issues?

We stayed above 6,000 ft. most of the ride. Never over 7000 for more than a few minutes. The bike ran great. No popping like I get here at home (2000 ft.). I think I need to turn the fuel screw out another half turn but its not too bad and I heard somewhere a little decelleration pop is ok. We would not have shot the Moose. The gun was to be fired in the air hoping to scare it away if it charged us. There was really no where for us to go, forward a Moose, and back, well it's no fun going back the way you came.

Thanks, it was alot of fun. Maybe next year us NW locals, and anyone else who can make it, can all meet up for a ride. We could meet somewhere in the middle like Wenatchee or Vantage.

Great pictures, and that sure is one fine lookin' bike
Oooh, oooh, tank bag! Looks great - what kind is that, if you don't mind my asking?

Its a Wolfman Enduro tank bag. I love it. It fits like a glove too. You have to unstrap the back of the bag to gas up but that is no sweat. My only complaint was the price but quality and fit make up for it.
I carry wallet, keys, camera (for easy access), candy bar, extra sunglasses ect... This bag fits a Taurus .357 nicely, and also a can of bearspray fits on top nicely. I dont yet have a GPS so its also nice to be able to see the map on the fly.
