Default Replacing headlight bulb and spring retainer. Help!

I was replacing the bulb. It was the fuse anyways but now I can't figure out the spring. I could appreciate the help to get it back together. Any links would help as I couldn't find anything

Crap, this is where a picture would be worth a thousand words. All I can tell you is the "spring" is slightly bent and that bent portion points forward pressing the bulb in. Also, the retainer spring sort of works like a hinge if it doesn't pop out. So the "hinged" side is towards the left if your sitting on the bike and the quick release side clips in on the right. I believe the "hinged" side is sort of shaped like a V and the bottom of the V should snap into a little groove or something. If I were you I'd take the bulb out, slide that rubber dust booty back and start from square one, that way you're not fussing with everything falling out and getting in your way. Once you see how the retainer spring works then slap it all together. One last thing, I think the right side of where the spring clips in and out of the head light assembly is from below...basically you'd push the clip forward, slightly pull down and then it clears the little hook and it pops open to remove the bulb. Good luck!

Thanks I found the service manual online. Section 16-57 the picture barely shows anything but just enough to kind of give you an idea
