Renazco seat on order
Not sure what Renazco uses inside. I'm pretty sure it's not gel, though - the seat is too light to be gel as that stuff is really heavy and I think you'd be able to tell. But I don't think the secret is so much the padding, but the shape. I'm no expert, though, all I know is that whatever they do it's a good forumula.
I bettya they use that memory foam stuff in thick quantities......that stuff is awesome......It's almsot like that FLOAM crap my daughter plays with....LOL....
I tried memory foam over gel when I had my KLX and that worked pretty good. But I don't think memory foam by itself would have enough support. It would be a good top layer, but I think it would need something more firm underneath. But don't pay much mind to me ... if I actually knew what I was doing I would have fixed my own seat.

Yeah, the website doesn't even give a hint about what they use. I too aminclined to go with shape as the primary comfort factor, although I'm sure they use the best combo of foam; probably a layering of differenct types of foam, like thecompanies that share some of their secrets use..
'Mentholated Gold Bond Powder, huh?'Hilarious story, butI might just consider that for a stop gap in until next season, because the ride I had today reminded me of why I should have ordered the seat as my very first mod... pure torture!I'll know better next time.

I think the memory foam mod is something might be inexpensive, i have a friend that owns a Harley and had his seat done up with the memory foam.....got to look into that!
Hmm, a Renazco seat would be nice...but oh so expensive. Isn't there a company that makes replacement foams in soft, med, and firm and in various heights? I know at least one of our members bought this company'sfoam and redid (that's a Dubya word) their seat. I can't remember their name or I would search them out. They are know primarily for seat covers. Anybody?
Check Gutts Racing. I actually put on a Gutts racing foam after I butchered mine in my attempt to make it more comfortable.
My first attempt resulted in a pretty comfortable seat. For that, I pulled off the cover, cut out a section of the stock foam, replaced with a gel pad and put a layer of memory foam over top of that. That actually worked pretty well but there were several downsides: 1) weight - it was very heavy; 2) looks - as one member here commented my seat looked like it was about to have puppies.
At first, I didn't' mind the looks since I was so happy with the extra comfort, I'd live with the looks. But over time, the "pregnant" seat got more an more annoying so I decided to "fix" it. My fix was to replace all the foam and gel with just memory foam. So I cut out a big ole thick section of memory foam in the shape of the original foam and built up my seat, restretched the cover, and boy did it look sharp - no more puppies, looked great. But then I sat on it and the memory foam alone plain and simple just does not have the support needed for a seat. It felt like I was sitting directly on the seat pan. That just wasn't going to do. It was then, that I bit the bullet and bought a whole new seat foam from Gutts Racing to put my seat back to stock. At that point, I realized I needed professional help, and that's when I decided that if I'm going to do this right, I may as well go with the best, which IMO, is Renazco Racing. I've not regretted that decision and in fact am very glad I did because now I have an ultracomfortable seat that has no compromises.
