It is.

Thats the least common way of doing it. It doesn't mean its subject to only the KLX 250S when I say its backwards, its just not the way most machines are put together. As you saw the 450F is not that way, thats the more common way of doing it. I've been in enough engines to know, but its not like I've worked on every machine throughout time. That would just be silly. Its like the KLX 300 having no master link in the chain. To me, that was the single most stupid thing I ever heard someone putting on a bike and assured someone over at Thumpertalk that was new to bikes that not all bike engineers are that dumb. I figured that was so bad it had to be only that machine, but a few other people chimed in and mentioned a few other models like that. Like I always say, damn office guys design this stuff on a computer but never pick up a wrench. Point of the story, just because more than one model of motorcycle have solid chains with no master link doesn't mean its still no the irregular way of doing it. I think you'll find most chain driven machines have master links. Just like most machines have flywheels like the 450F. Not the 250s and now obviously KTM and what else.....the TTR?. Must be an enduro thing. Perhaps because they have such large weights on them its easier to put them together this way. That almost has to be it. Because the weight on the 250S is like a barbell.

Ok, now you have my interest. Did you place some sort of diode arrangement inside of the stator assy? Details please, Sir.

JFMX, so you are saying that most MX bikes have the stator mounted toward the engine instead of to the outside cover? Like this:

With flying covering that:

Instead of like the photo I posted of the ktm flywheel with the stator mounted to the ignition cover like so:

Fascinating.
