My thought was venting too.

They might have pinched or kinked a vent line under the tank. If the cap doesn't do the trick, maybe pull the tank off and make sure the vent lines are not being constricted.

Yes, they did...unless they had a couple of very small people from the movie "Fantastic Journey" doing the work. And that's not sarcasm...it's a joke.

But seriously, the shop guy(s) did something in there even if it was just disturbing some sediment in the tank or float bowl that has now interrupted fuel flow.

They found it pretty quick, they did pinch the fuel line!
Bikes runs fine, not a big power pick up but very happy with the way it starts and how quiet it is when letting off the throttle.

Hey old man, Long time no talk, quick question, Do you know what jets they used and where about they positioned the clip, and also the a/f screw? just curious.

My **** runs like a screamin eagle but pops and backfires on decel. gets kinda old and kinda worried about it as well

Until he gets back to you, you can try to unscrew the A/F screw a bit more...it might help mitigate some of the deceleration popping. Of course, it could also be an air leak in from your exhaust gasket...

Caution about turning it TOO far out...it can fall out when you're riding. I wouldn't go much past about 3.5 turns out. It doesn't do anything more to richen the mixture after that far out anyway...
