I wanna paint my wheels, my 09 is red and black and far from stock. I tried the search but just got tons of crotch rocket B.S. I'm thinking putting straws on my spokes and taping off the tires and calling it good. I really want red, try that first. If I hate it then black. I don't care if it's perfect or if it only lasts a few weeks, I'll just redo it. Any guys on here that painted your stock rims?? How long did it stay? Kind of paint? Did you prep the wheel, scuff it up or something? Be a nice project for this weekend. I don't care about messing up the rims, anything is better then that cheap aluminum look.

 

Sand blast, primer, light coats. Cure

I would get them Powder Coated..
As far as color...I would like Black rims n Red hubs..

 

You better be talking about a street-only ride! Where I ride, painted rims wouldn't last through a tank of gas.

 

Black. Wildly colored rims always sound good in theory but usually end up looking like shiet in the end.

 

I like the cherry red hubs for the rim color
