Rear Turn Signal Lights breaking off

Rear Turn Signal Lights breaking off
In the last 6 months, I have had four rear turn signal lights break off. It looks like a problem with the turn signals. I ride pretty hard in the desert, but this is a bad problem - especially at $40 a crack. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a replacement part that can fix the problem? I think this is a warranty problem (defective materials).

Where are they breaking? In half? At the mount? Might try mounting them different. The flex-y mount is all cute for when you bounce up and down but it might be too weak for fast, bumpy desert riding. Maybe build your own bracketry under the plastics, connected to the subframe, and screw the signals directly to them. That'll kill two birds with one stone (more solidly mounted + tuck them in).

Don't know what year your bike is, or if there is any connection, but the '08 KLR 650s have had a lot of trouble with the rubber breaking on turn signals. I think Kawasaki has treated it as a warranty problem in most cases.
