Default Rear tire upgrade ? Klx250SF

The stock tire on my 2010 klx250SF looks real small. I like when supermotos have a large, wide, thick and tall rear tire like a 600cc + street bike tire.
Can I upgrade my rear tire to bigger size on my stock rim ?
What sizes can I do ?
Any benefits ?
Any negatives ?
Can I only increase the rear and leave the front tire stock ?
Any pics of larger rear tires ?

Post Rear Tires

You have a 4'' rim so a 150 will fit perfectly and a 160 will be just a little big but will still work. 600cc sport bikes have a 5.5'' rear wheel so they run 180s and that's just to wide to fit in the swing arm of our 250s...

Uhhhhh no, the reason you don't want to do that is 1 it won't clear the swing arm with a 150, and 2 the bike doesn't have the power to turn a heavy tire like that. Get a 140, or stick with a 130 and put a 120 up front. Until you get a big bore kit that is ;p

some have cleared a 150 on the back but its tight and depnds on the tire profile.

best to go ahaed and stay with 140 or smaller.

I've been told you can lace a rim slightly off to the right when running a fatter tire on a bike. Not sure what that does to the handling..

I got a 140/70/17 sticky Pirelli Diablo Rosso 2 on the back on mine....It works great & looks big enough on the medium sized SuMo! Also Bridgestone Battlax BT090 & Pirelli Sport Demon's work well on a SuMo KLX.

IMO a 150 would be to big & heavy, which would ultimately muck the power & handling up on such a light & twitchy bike. Get a KTM or a Husky if you want big chunky tires.

Thanks for your replies guys !
I guess I'm leaning more towards a higher CC supermoto with larger tires. If I do keep my klx I will prob get up to a 140 rear.

Yeah, it looks better now than before I put front tire on. the rear looked like a freaking tractor tire .
