Not sure if this is what your after, but this mod looks pretty cool :D
Or you could maybe go for a small tail light like the DRC Edge

black fender...plastic can be cut and you can always mount the lights and plate above, but not sure if it'll look good since the 09+ rear fender sits flatter

Thank you for the offer. Let me think about it. Is the fender black or green?

A few of the guys I ride with have a similar setup and they often are zip tying the plate back on after a get off. That's why I'm trying to get it on top of the fender.

Very cool, I like the black.

I appreciate everyone's feedback and advice.

So back to the original question, does anyone know if the 06/07 rear fender is a direct bolt on to the 09?

highly doubt it. I believe the subframe is quite different in addiion to the body work.

but anything could be made to fit with enough work.

brilliant!! I didn't think to check the subframe part number. 2009+ have a /A appended to it.

Fender

so TJrockit

have you found a solution for the 2006 klx250 rear fender?

wondering what you have done.

I think I am going to just remove all that crap and mount my plate under the red tail light, keeping stock blinkers. it will not have a white light on the plate, but might still be ok

Some aluminum, a drill and some nuts and bolts. I broke mine a few times.:D Then cut the black plastic off even with the bottom of the tail light made some bends and drilled some holes through the cross piece. I did three but would just go with two if I were to do it again.
