OK, so what the best after market exhaust to buy for my 2007 250 KLX down here in Australia?

Three things that need to be considered. Price – Looks – Performance.

Can any one help point me in the right direction here?
Maybe best to rate each exhaust on a scale of 10 - with 10 being the best and 1 crap.

For example: Staintune – Price 7, Looks 6, Performance 9.

One thing your going to have to really look at is price.. alot of us in the US can probably get exhausts alot cheaper than you because ur in AUS...

I have a Big Gun Full exhaust.... looks... 8 sounds...8 price....1 ( motorcycle exahusts are way over price in my opinion.... for all kinds of bikes.... a full exhaust for a crotch rocket 1300$ come on.... i can get a full exhaust for my truck for less)

I have a fourstroke works header- 10 for fit and finish- nice power gain, then I got the muffler in brushed finish (they offer it in colors) looks 9. fit 8, you have to add spacers and remove rear foot peg. great mid to top end power boost- with quit tip- still a little loud ( I like thing quite). Over all 9

 

Stock KLX 300 muffler and headpipe

Price: 10, ~$50 on ebay

Fit: 7, only 2 out of 3 bolts lined up on my frame, still secure though

Performance: 7, I've not had any dyno numbers but it does pull harder and hold a higher speed on hills.

Bang for the buck: 10, I figure I have an exhaust that flows nearly as free as a slip on for 1/6th the price of one. Even if it only bumped it 2hp compared to the reported 4 for a full system, it was still a bargain.

Looks 9- It sticks out a bit far and is pretty round, I kinda like the looks of the BG.

Performance 10 - It puts out just as much as the BG did (my bro has one) and it sounds awesome (to me, you might hate loud stuff)

I agree with Eric, 1200 for a full system on a bike?!?!? I know a guy that knows a guy that can get me a magnaflow cat-back 5 inch muffler and pipe for 300$! (for the chevy dirtymax)

 

KLX300r Exhaust and head pipe

Price 10 - Paid $50 plus shipping on a less than 100 mile unit
Looks 10 - Not installed yet but wanted it to look stock.
Performance - Don't know but positive it will perform better. Also did not want it too loud so we can sneak in and out without making people mad.

KLX300r head pipe and muffy

cost = 10 $40 on craigslist

looks = 8.5 like the OE look and the oe spark arrestor no hassels(even say KLX250s on the sparky) fittment was perfect all holes lined up perfectly(Bryantjt?)

performance = 9 head pipe is larger than stock and did the "head pipe grind" to make it flow even better. Sound is perfect. louder then stock but not too loud to attract attention. Bike runs greatw/ basic mods and this pipe.
