Mine is.

A standard 2 stroke mx style tube will be about a 1/5 turn on the KLX

I just resurrected this old thread to say the carb mod works great. I'm using stock throttle cables and tube. I did try it with a single pull cable but the idle position is vague without the return cable. I would say it reduced wot throw to about 80*. I love the reduced twist.

1 cable on stock throttle you need to make a stop in the housing. A well place hole drilled and a long rivet protruding into the housing is what I did. Before I installed a magura 314 on my 06 bike.

Is the magura 314 larger diameter at the cable, than stock? If so that should make it even quicker, which I would like. I bent my throttle arm in and drilled the new hole down on the carb, but would still like it so I don't have to reposition my grip.
thanks

314 can be changed from 2 positions, enduro or mx, both positions are faster than stock klx.

With ANY bigger diameter your pulling more cable, so the pull is harder than stock. Enduro work fine for me, MX you might wanna unwrap the spring on the carb a turn, though I haven't tried it. I was able to use one of the stock cables no problem, though I switched some nuts around or something.

IMO the quicker throttle is 1/2 the boost guys feel when they go to the pumper, they gain a pump and a better throttle. Why I coined the magura314 the poor mans pumper in another thread somewhere.

I have unwrapped the carb spring and the throttle response really felt like a pumper carb. I've been riding for 40+ yrs. and this was a mod that amazed me. A bit tough to figure out but not impossible. Maybe the best part is my right arm and shoulder don't hurt any more.

Well, I installed the magura 314 on enduro setting with the carb mod as well. I have to say, It's the best mod after destricting and rejet. I can now ride without getting outta shape twisting the throttle, and response is better too.
Poor mans pumper, you nailed it!
thanks

I trimmed 1/4" off the end of the tube, otherwise straight forward install with no interference with brake master cylinder.
