Quick South Florida Ride Report
I like seeing the ride reports from various parts of the country with pics, so here's one from my part of the country.
I've only had the KLX for only a couple weeks now and only got about 200 miles on her. So far I've been satisfied with my decision
but power is lacking just like other threads have stated. I've already ordered the basic mods with the exception of the exhaust which I
plan to drill for now.
I'm a noob rider so I've been practicing in the sand mostly, but I took Monday the 3rd off work and took the bike for an early morning
ride. I stopped at the Sailfish Marina for a crab omlette and to show off the bike to a couple fishing buddies. [sm=shades.gif]
After cruising on the street along the barrier islands, I hit some paths where I thought I might find some new fishing spots,
Like this spot that looked fishy.
After a bit more cruising around I decided to go hit my bike riding training grounds, this is about 200 yds from the warehouse where I
keep my boat etc and now a bike.
Here's a couple more pics, BTW it's extra loose sugar sand.
Edit: I guess I should mention how the fully stock bike handles in sugar sand. I'll put it this way, forget 1st and goose it hard in second and you should get going....but I'm a noob.

Nice pics! I wonder how many KLX fill-ups it would take to get from WA to FL??? I think that most of us would agree-this bike stinks in the sand..more aggressive tires..and more HP definitely help though.

Sand? Yep, it's Florida and we have sand all over the place. Wait a minute - isn't Florida nothing more than a big sandbar that separates the Gulf of Mexico from the Atlantic Ocean?
Now I understand - sand is what we are!
Now I understand - sand is what we are!
