Default Quick question for those who have a FMF Q4

Called Dennis Kirk this morning and was about to order the Q4 and the sales rep had in her notes that the stock rear turn signal needs to be removed and replaced with an after market signal.......I'm guessing due to the length of the pipe. Is this fact or fiction?

Can you give an example of the recommended turn signal replacements that fit without to much hassle?

Thanks.....

^^^^ I went to Cycle Gear, they have a big selection, mine are made by Speed Metal, they were 16 bucks, they aren't flush mount but pretty close, they have a stem of about an inch and the blinker is about as big as your thumb, now I said this can't be as bright as stock, but oh yeah just as bright, easy install...done..I waited to see if mine were going to melt,if yours don't they will

I'm running the stock turn signals with the Q4, right signal is blackened a bit but not melted and works fine.

Default give it some time

I put the Q4 on, worked great, light turned a bit dark, then black. After a few more rides, melted. Then after a few more it fell off, leaving some blackened wires. Got the "edge" replacement.

Yes, unfortunately on the 09-10 bikes, it looks like they have that issue.

The pipe works great on the 06-07 bikes. No melted blinkers.

I wish they would come up with a fix for the newer bikes, because it is a really good match for the KLX. Not too loud, not too quiet, it is just right.
