Generally an .032" shim works very well; your shim (.5mm) is a little thin but doubling up (.039") would be slightly too large but may still work pretty decent, on the other hand I have not heard of anyone using two shims.

A hobby shop.
I have a been full of old R/C car hardware and I was able to rummage through it and find a washer that fit the needle perfectly (correct ID and OD) and was .035" thick.
It worked great.

I'd go 1.5 mm with the #128 main.

Use as many as you like. How high do you want to raise it?
At some point you'll lower it and go one up on the main jet.

I tried two shims recently on my 09 and it ran like ****. Just use one and you will be fine. Its the jetting of the main that is going to be more crucial than the shimming of your needle.
