I never ride on road with a motocross hat anymore as I've had a number of stinging insects make it alive inside and sting the heck out of me while I try to shed the lid at speed. DS type with a full visor is hard to beat.

Very true linkin! But as I found out recently, the visor only works when it's *down*, haha.
During an unpleasantly hot commute in traffic last summer, I made the mistake of riding with the visor up. A wasp got behind my glasses stung me three times on the eyeball. I was INCAPACITATED! Very dangerous situation in traffic!

damn and I thought having a wasp go to town on my cheek at 80mph was bad, that musta hurt like hell go cytocis

I consider that day to be a low point in wasp/human relations!
Still not as bad though as a friend of mine who swallowed a wasp; he ended up in hospital due to restricted breathing...

Last year on my ride home from work i caught a yellow jacket in the collar of my riding coat, bastard got me 3 times before i could stop and get it out.
