Default putting klx300 barrel on 2009 klx250

Hi, there are many comments about upgrading 250 t0 300cc using kits. The question is - if I go to wrecker and get 300cc barrel from KLX300 lets say 2006, would it fit directly to 2009 klx250? Thanks, Alex

If it is of a 200-2006 model KLX300 it should fit your 2009/2010 KLX250. Bill Blue's big bore kits will fit all those models too, so you should be fine.

Thanks mate. By the way, does FMF muffler fit Aus model directly or you replaced the header as well?

The Aussie model KLX250 actually uses the larger diameter header pipe of the old KLX300. So if you get the FMF slip-on on it's own, order the one for the 2006 KLX300. If you order the FMF power bomb header pipe at the same time as the slip-on then I don't think it matters what year model you go for.

I took a ton of advice from guys on this forum with my bike, as like you, I figured it wasn't worth the pain of learning the pitfalls myself when others have already done the hard yards and I can just copy them. Maybe check out my "Aussie 2010 KLX250S jetting and slip on pipe" thread (https://www.kawasakiforums.com/forum...ad.php?t=32454). WestOzKLX was a great help when I was researching my mods.

Lookee what I just won on Flea Bay. Now I'll have something more to tinker with this winter. I'm not quite sure what I'm going to do with it yet. If the piston and bore is ok, I might just get a new set of rings and plop it on there. But what the hell fun is that?

Nice score man! For a very good price!!
I wonder how big sleeve Bill can stick into the 300 cylinder and still keep it "dry"

If I have it right, Bill can go up to a 330 and keep it "dry", but why?

I went to the 351 with no trouble or regrets. I decided go big or go home. Its the same labor no matter what size you use and it WILL work fine with the stock carb and exhaust if you want. The difference is simply AMAZING.
