Talking Put my money down!

Well pulled the trigger on a Bmw 450g should be in after the new year. Can't wait I'm replacing my stolen Ktm 300exc that I had for about a month before some scum bag made off with it. Hopefully this new one will be what they promise it will be.

That really sucks! I hate thieves, I had my downhill bike stolen with over $3500 into it, just the way I wanted it. Oh well, good luck with the new one.

Do you mean G 450 X? Sweet looking ride!

Sounds pretty innovative and high tech as well.

BMW has a display of these bikes at the scrub pine enduro- no test rides- but they said BMW will start a test ride program in Oct 08! They really look great.

Competition ready AND street plateable straight out of the box!

Not to mention EFI, ease of access for performing most maintenance actions, a more forward angled cylinder...the list goes on.

Oh, and WITH a full tank of gas, it weighs the same as the KLX250s!

Sounds promising.

BMW seems to be really pushing lately to make real improvements across most of their product line.

On the street side, pretty soon their boxer engine powered bikes will sell for purely nostalgic reasons, because the K series continues to become more advanced in design while the boxer just gets bandages to the same basic idea.

Early reviewers love that bike. It's got a lot of innovative tech. Also, the price is not horrible, considering what you get, and cheaper than the '09 KTMs which went through the roof. If I was in the market for a new bike, that one would be on my short list.

I went to buy a 09 ktm and about died!

Almost went with a Sherco went and looked at 1 and it was real nice but just couldn't help but wonder if having one would be alittle to exotic as the closest dealers are 3 and 5 hours away.
Rode a Husky (which is BMW now)450 and 510 smr and te and they were awesome, but I thought BMW might be the way to go and also has a huge network of dealers and the 3/36000 mile warranty really helped. 51 horsepower should be enough and the maintenance isn't bad not that it really matters as I do my own. I can still get out they are allowing me to ride it be fore purchase if I don't care for it I'll go with the Husky.

Let us know how you go changing the front sprocket. LOL
Dead envious though. Saw some footage of them at Erzberg and on the 08 World Enduro circuit. Awesome kit.
