It has an accelerator pump that squirts a little gas directly in the venturi when you open the throttle. It is to battle the mixture from going too lean (even if jetted properly, look at any dyno chart & look at the air-fuel ratrion when they crack the throttle) when you crack the throttle open. It' smain function is throttle response.

Yep, that is my understanding.
The people that have fitted them rave about them.
Check with Nobrakes.

The only downsides I have heard is
1. A bit harder to set up
2. Fuel ecomomy.

It's certainly on my radar.

Typical operating range is between 1/4 and 3/4 throttle. Amount of fuel pumped (duration of squirt) isdirectly proportional to how far you openthe throttle in one, uninterruptedmotion...starting at 1/4 and finishing a 3/4being the max.

Yup, the primary difference is in throttle response. I'm running a pumper with stock displacement and itnoticeably changed the personality of the bike. I really like how snappy it is.It makes wheeliesMUCH more easy and controllable. I'mgoing towait another season before going large bore, but, for the time being, this carb has really increased the fun quotient of the bike.

He bores it out to a 34mm and makes the adapters so that it fits perfectly in the place of the stock CV carb. He will purchase the carb for you and do the modification and send you the carb ready to install. The price is around $350 depending on the cost of the carb and freight. Bill is a great guy and will answer any questions that you may have. [/align]
