Good Acerbis hand guards and a skid plate. Those are items you'd probably want to add anyway.

The only thing I see missing (that concerns me) is the chainguard. The seller might have the parts that have been removed; chainguard, seat strap, ?? .

Someone will get a sweet deal.

No, that's not THE reason entirely. Just another "something" to add to the fact that it's not a pristine 1,100 mile bike. Add $100-$150 for adding some wraps/decals, plus my time doing it, and it puts it right up there close to $3,000, which seems to be basically an average everyday price for a 2009 bike in that condition.
If it was truely a steal, I was gonna jump on it. If it's just a decent deal, I think I'll wait until just the perfect one comes along.

Local Craig’s list has one for $3,900. More miles, no aftermarket stuff.
I guess I should sell mine. I have only 1050 miles and a lot of aftermarket stuff. Granted, aftermarket really doesn't affect selling price. I guess what I am saying is I wouldn’t be selling my bike for $2,750.

Just curious, but at what mileage are things likely to start wearing out to the point of needing fixed on a KLX? Things like bearings, sprockets, chains, etc.? Provided nothing has been "broken" due to crash damage and such.

In other words, at what mileage do you REAALLY have to start looking a bike over looking for emerging problem areas?

10k. Timing chain noise, actual drive chain, sprockets, oil, air filter, that's about it. at such low miles the bearings should be good unless he took it in water and didn't check them, even then they are probably still ok. My bike has 14k on (im assuming) original chain and sprockets

Probably not a terrible price but definitely not a steal considering the "issues".

I paid $3,500 for my 2009 brand new in 2010 FWIW.

If the guy came down to 2750 on the phone he'd come down more in person with cash, stickers are no reason not to buy a bike. Anymore a sign shop could design custom ones that could be a real cool one off.

I just paid 3500 for a 2010 SF new leftover stock in April with 0 miles on it. The first thing I did was take almost all of the factory stickers off. I put about 2k miles on it over the summer and there's not a cold chance in hell I'd sell it for 2750. I don't know if the SF's go for more the the S models, but it sounds like a pretty decent deal to me. And to not buy it because someone took the factory decals off seems rather ridiculous imho.

I peal the stickers off as they get torn. All my plastics have scuffs, no cracks. 6k miles. No issues other than replacing the automatic tensioner with a manual one. I have a leaking valve cover gasket, but I'll get to it when I finally check the valves. I think I paid 3k OTD from a dealer 2 years ago. It had 1k miles on it at the time and was complete. He was asking $3500 for it. It wasn't a great deal, but I was sick of looking... and the desert season just started. I have a spare seat strap you can have if you buy it. $2500 OTD is a good price IMO. $2400 is a steal!
