I've got the powerbomb on mine, it made the power come on sooner like right off idle. Just a guess here but I doubt that there is a big difference between the two. Either will flow much better than the stock straw.

To 2veedubs: I didn't like the way the torque peak flattened out after 6000 rpm's. At about 7500 it felt like I was running into a good headwind or there was a small secret p/chute I had deployed. I told him 2000 to 6000 rpm was good but it really didn't want to wind up to red line. He said that I should use the Power Bomb head pipe. It's power was biased to the top end. The Mega Bomb was more for mid range power. It worked as he said it would, The bike pulls strongly and cleanly from 2000 rpm to 10,000 rpm. I'm running 15/39 gearing. Nothing will bring out weaknesses in your motor like long gearing. Thank god I had the good sense to phone FMF.

I might be interested in the P-bomb. I'm more interested in top end performance then anything. My only concern is increased sound. I don't think my neighbors would like that. Can anyone talk about the sound differences between the two.

I've also heard replacing the stock header only garnered minimal power gains, is that true? Would I need to rejet too?

ahnh666, how much do you want for it? If you're up for it you could come to Sac and we can replace them both.

Oops, just realized you have a m-bomb, that won't work.

Hey ahnh666. I'd love to swap headpipes. I live in Larkspur. We can swap our pipes at my shop. I've got all the tools. I'm 10 miles north of the bridge. E-mail me, gvmetal@jhts com. What else have you done to your klx?

To ahnh666: My goal is to make this bike work as a 250. Doesn't mean I'm not thinking about a big bore kit. I just think that I'm better at making bikes work well than your average klx owner. And I won't apologize for saying it. We should swap bikes and go for a 5-10 mile ride, before swapping head pipes. Up to you. Can't wait to see what a kdx snorkel looks like.

Well hell, Duncan, please share with us average blokes what we can do to get to your level of greatness. Oh and no apologies needed, if you share.

I was hoping that you guys had done a heads up swap to see which one did what where. It's funny as I have the powerbomb and the only place it made a noticable change on my bike was right off idle, Slightly easier to get the front end in the air from idle, it may have made some difference higher in the rev range but not at all noticable.
