Good to see someone having fun though. Looks like nice country.

Second that thought on a bigger bike for the wee man. Maybe a KX 80 has his name on it?
I'm definitely on the lookout for a bigger bike for him. An 80 is actually way too big, I've had him sit on one. I'm thinking either a KX65 or KLX110. I like that he can completely flat foot the little 50 right now and he's gaining confidence but it won't be too long until we have a new bike in the garage for him. His sister is 8 years old and the 50 will be perfect for her as a hand-me-down.

On a side note, that little 50 is a chinese XR/CRF50 clone. I think it was $500 delivered. I bought it for him two Christmas' ago. I have to say that I have been really impressed with the bike. I intended for him to ride around the yard on it and learn how to ride a bike - that's about all I expected from such a cheap bike. It has gone way above my expectations. We took the whole thing apart when we got it and greased, tightened, and loctited everything. I've changed the oil on a regular basis, lubed the chain, and generally treated it as well as I do my KLX and it has held up wonderfully.

Some of the stuff we rode through yesterday was unbelievable, even for my KLX and that cheap little bike went through with ease. I am really dumbfounded. I brought rope with me because I half expected to end up towing him back to the truck.

The fit/finish is not up to Japanese quality but overall, for a cheap bike, it's been great. Like anything, you have to take care of your stuff.

Wow that's awesome!! Yesterday my 13 year old and I were working on the mower in the garage, and he got distracted and next thing I knew he was sitting on mom's 2006 XT 225, and had both feet almost flat on the ground. I guess I need to teach him to ride huh? LOL

My kids grew up riding, and loved it. Now that they have to foot the bill themselves I can't get them to get bikes and go riding. Must come from the wifes side of the family.
