Other Hobbies
It would be cool to do a mass klx adv ride heading south from canada through the states down into central mexico picking up klx riders as we went, till we got down to somewhere really dool and then had a size large klx forum party, eventually ending up in a third world prison....well maybe not
I was about to say, That would be Awesome!! then red "ending up in a third world prison".
I was like racing at 130mph and having a blowout. One moment your all high and full of youself, then blahh..
It would be great to do something like without getting arrested. All I need to do to make it happen is win the lottery!!
It takes me a few days to fully adjust to the alt. Here are a few shots from this last July. Took the KLX out to CO. on the back of the truck. Plenty of places to ride out there.
First shot on top of storm mt via jeep trail. Longs peak and Mt Meeker are just off the end of my bars. Longs is a 16 mile round trip hike.

My daughter and I having a snack in the saddle between Mt Chapin and Mt Chiquita on our attempt at Yipsilon. We started late, took a wrong trail and not too long after this pic storms / lightning started moving in, so we decided to get back below the treeline.

Cool thing about this hike was we blazed out to the trailhead on the ol' KLX. The trailhead is on the old Fall River Rd in Rocky Mt Natl. park. Here we are, after hiking down in the rain, nearing the end of the Fall River road. It was a pretty good hike down in the rain, followed by a pretty long ride on the bike in the rain. It's july, but obviously it's cold up there.

It seems like I am always working, but I guess I actually do other things, but they seem like work sometimes.
I crew chief on 2 short track racecars from March until October, we rebuild them in the winter, and the drivers wreck them in the summer, gives us something to rebuild in the winter.
I ride my 4 wheeler whenever I can, I golf when I have a chance (stupid game, who the f*ck created a game where low score wins?)
I have several old cars that I wrench on when there is nothing else to do, a 2nd gen Camaro, 46 Ford turning into a dragcar from a streetrod, we have a fleet of old cars at the shop we are always working on, or taking out to play.
I travel to several major auto events for work in the summer,
I am part owner of a 1964 24ft Cris Craft ( hole in the water we throw money at), but it has 2 healthy 350 Chevys in it
Lets see, what else do I get into? Oh yea, Jimmy Buffet and Bruce Springsteen concerts every summer, chase the girls around starbucks, sample as many blends of Sam Adams, check to see what time it is?
Must be more, but its starting to feel like work to think of what I do when I aint workin . .

spare time usually gets swallowed up with being in the army reserve, but any time outside of that I spend doing illustration and photography, as well as temping as an outdoor survival instructor. Would FAR rather spend more time doing that at the moment, but hey, the country needs me aye?
There have been a lot of hobbies over the years! The major ones are flying (getting too expensive, though) water skiing, skeet shooting / sporting clays, playing music and of course motorcycles of any kind. Oh, yeah and mountain biking.
Great thread JRock! I work 40+ a week installing custom home theaters, which all started 10 years ago from my car/home audio hobbie. Have always been big into music, jam bands mostly. My two wheel fixation started when i was alot younger riding/racing bmx. I still have my P.K. Ripper! as well as a couple of mountian bikes that i like to ride almost as much as the KLX. Also am an avid snowboarder and make at least one trip to CO. each year. Other interests include my 3 dogs, women, herbology, good beer/whiskey, and I'm finding new stuff to get into all the time!
Making music is my other main hobby. (I play drums..) Currently between bands at the moment. Looking for a good solid metal band to join.. I recently left a blues/rock band (wasn't quite my style).
I'm also a computer enthusiast, but I get so much of it at work that I hardly do anything tech-geeky at home anymore. I get 10 hours a day of geeking out at work.
