Ordered my 13 tooth sprocket. Is it Right
Last week when I went to the Stealer to buy oil and other goodies I went ahead and ordered a 13 tooth sprocket. I took all the part numbers from the sticky with me. The guy didnt really cross reference any of them and just looked it up in the tucker rocky catalog. It showed a listing for a 200* - 2006 Klx 250 So I ordered it But I'm a little skepticial because it doesnt match any part # of the sticky.
Tucker rocky Part # 906513 Description - Sun 34213 520-13
Anybody know For Sure if it's right and will work?

LV,
I have the Sunstar 34213 on my bike right now. I works just fine. The only difference in fit between the Sunstar 13T and the OEM 14T is that the Sunstar is just a tiny bit thicker, I think. The reason I think this is that I noticed with the Sunstar sprocket, there was no more room on the splines for the knock-down washer to grab on when first placed onto the shaft. I am pretty sure that it grabs enough to hold once you torque down on the sprocket nut a little bit.
I point this out not to caution you against this sprocket, just to point out the small difference. I recall someone on this forum mentioned that it was exactly the same as the OEM unit. When I noticed this minor difference, it made me wonder if I had the right sprocket. If I had known to expect this minor, but noticeable difference, I would not have worried so much at first.
That's my long way of saying, "you will be fine with the part that you have ordered". Enjoy it. It really does completely change the way the bike pulls - especially lower down.

Cool, thanks for the info. Since I ride mostly street I may never actually Use the 13 tooth sprocket but it will be nice to have just in case I want to throw it on.

I wouldn't hesitate to put it on no matter where you ride. You will be amazed how it makes the bike run thru out the entire rpm range. I hope it fits okay. The sprocket for the Honda XR650L is the right one, or one for a Ninja 250 works too. good luck

I still do not understand why some of you are ordering sprockets not knowing if you got the right one or if it will fit when you receive it. It's plastered all over on this forum what to order- one for a 250 Ninja or one for an XR650L Honda is the one you want. These will fit without a doubt. Order THEM.
I think we were just going by what the dealer says, they looked it up and said that it would work. Then I saw this post about the sun sprocket and was curious how it worked out.

About your comment " ... just in case I want to throw it on.", I don't think "throw it on" is a good choice of words -- that nut is a real pain to get off!
I'm not sure who said it, but I think one of the steps in the official procedure involves making comments about its mother. (If I recall correctly, I belive this step is repeated, too.)
So rather than casually thinking some afternoon that "I want to throw it on", it might be better to take a "This means war!" attitude. (You can thank me later.)

nah, it's not that hard after you learn to take it off. remember, it's threaded backwards and when you put your socket and rachet on, one very quick snap will break it loose. you cannot muscle it off, it takes a quick jerk to break it loose. trust me on this.
