I have not ordered my cams yet. I'm waiting to get the Mikuni TM33 completely dialed in and set a baseline for the performance of the bike.

Once that is done, I will order the cams and install them.

I did find out some interestesting information. Web Cams uses your existing cams to do the "weld and grind" to produce the cam profile you are looking to put in your bike. As a result, the KACR is still intact.

I'm looking for cams for my bike after riding a 300 with FCR and cams. Great stuff. Problem is I cannot furnish cam cores to webcam for them to grind since the bike is overseas. Anybody got a cheap source for used cams to furnish to Webcam? I searched ebay but got nothing. Or are there anyother mfg's of cams for our bike? I have a 250 w/300 jug.

Here's looking forward to your findings Marty. Also get that carb sorted so I can follow suit. Will Sullydirt do the carb mod for others?

You might want to expand your e-bay search to include the KLX300. I'm pretty sure the cams would be interchangable, if not quite identical. But don't quote me on that.

That would be Bill, not Sully. I put out bad information earlier because I had gotten the two guys confused. Contact Marty for contact information on Bill. I know he will do the work for others because he offered me the same thing back in June-July time frame.

I wanted to bump this thread to see if there had been any updated information concerning cams. I'm getting ready to take the plunge and just wanted to know all of my options.

Here arethe grind numbers from my Nassert cams, just in-case you gowith Web Cams. I think they will weld and grindthe stockersto any workable spec you give them. corrected **As you can see, theintakesopen21.5 degreesbefore the exhaust valves close, so there is a 21.5 degree overlap.** Thismakes it much easier on the starter motor, should you decide to ditch the ACR. It's nice to have theoption of leaving it on with the web cams though.

IntExh
Duration (grater than 1mmlift) 232 229
Max Lift(mm)/tappet clearance 8.75/0.15 8.4 @0.20
Lift Center(±2°) ATDC105 BTDC105
Open-Close timing at 1mmlift 11-41 38.5-10.5
Cold Tappet Clearance (mm) 0.15-0.19 0.20-0.24

Are your Nassert Cams. drop in? Where did you get them, or are they only available over there? Have you installed them yet? And if you have, how is the performance?

I am using the 101 cams built by Web Cam. Sometimes they have a set of cores that they can swap out for you. Just ask Faith, Melissa, Laurie or Steve...dang near anyone you talk to knows plenty about these cams and what they have available. They built my cams and used the compression release in stock form. So far, no trouble with that.

As for engine compression, keep in mind that with the big bore, we're raising compression if we keep the head stock. Luke Heaney at Luke's Racing releaved my head some to lower the compression from a bit above 13:1 to more like 12.5:1. It starts fine, runs good on pump super gas and doesn't ping a bit.

I'm spotty on the forum lately because it seems to be slow loading when I change pages. I'm not sure if it's my computer or the site. Feel free to email me directly if needed at bill_dragoo@hotmail.com.
