Default Oil drops

So last night after work I went out to my garage to work on my cb750 when I noticed a few drops of oil under my KLX. It seems some oil managed to leak out of where the dipstick is on my ride home, and then it ran under the bike and dripped once I parked. I know I have seen oil spit on bikes when there is too much oil or if the crankcase if not able to breathe. My oil lvl does not seem too high at all and the crankcase is not blocked. Checked this morning and there was no oil under it. So it looks likes it's happening only when running. Any suggestions im only at like 90mi on this model?

hey i got a cb750 too.... with that low miles, and brand new, take it back, unless the oil fill cap isnt tight, and there is no dipstick on the klx.

My guess is that the cb750 spit on the KLX... maybe You don't ride the cb750 much since You bought the KLX? (notice You used capitals for the KLX and not the cb ;-) If You don't start riding the cb more You might end up with mysterious flats too?

On a serious note, wouldn't a clogged/pinched crankcase breather cause that?

mine has leaked oil out of the filler cap since i bought it. i have 3000 mostly dirt miles and haven't had an issue yet. i'm thinking it's just a bad cap and doesn't seal correctly.

The filler cap should have an o-ring seal on it. Maybe yours is missing?? Just a thought.

When I changed my oil and filter yesterday, I noticed a drop hanging off the drain plug. When I went to loosen the drain plug it was tight. No big deal, unless you like a clean garage floor. I didn't notice any fiber washer on the drain plug at all, and didn't have one to place on the plug. When the next oil change happens at 500-600 miles, I will be prepared with a fiber washer for that drain plug.

A drop of oil hanging from oil change plug can also mean. The O-ring seal behind the spocket is leaking. My 09 had this since 7 miles i just got it fixed.
