oil change
so ive been doing some research about these oil filters. some say that the '09 takes a different filter, but the dealer says the 09 and pre 09 are the same.
kawasaki-52010-1053 fram-CH6015 wix-24944 As for oil, i've decided to go with lucas semi-synthetic 10w-40 High Performance motorcycle oil. |
I just did my 1st oil change today at 75 Miles!
Advance Auto Parts has the filter ...its $5.79 part # CH6015 And i got 2 qts of Valvoline 10w-40 for $4.39 qt Be careful with the spring behind the filter..it was the hardest part for me! |
Bend the spring open a little on one end ( make it a little larger in diameter ). Doing that will make the spring tight where it locates in the bike, and it will stay where it's supposed to.

So make it wider on one end and then place it inside the bike 1st..then put the filter in?
|
yes that's it. When you make one end open a bit further you can sorta wedge it in between those 3 bumps on the inside of the oil filter housing. I usually have to spin the spring a bit to get it to stay in place.

I just lay the bike on its side and put the filter, spring and cover on.
