Default OEM skid plate any good?

Hi guys,

Just wondering if anyone uses the OEM skid plate from Kawasaki?

It's the cheaper option here in Aus, but I'm not sure if it's actually any good.

This one here --> Kawasaki Motors Australia - Motorcycles

Cheers

replaced mine with a B&B before I even rode the bike........ pretty sure the stock one is a waste of time.

Those are some big cut-outs on the wings...seems that's where it should be solid for strength in taking shots from rocks and falls.
But...something is always better than nothing.

haha, that'll teach me for not clicking on the link..... my OEM plate looks nothing like that, I still think the B&B is way better than that one. A lot beefier .....

I rode for 5 years without, another rider pointed out my misunderstanding of rocks, so I got a full solid high strenght aluminum one (without those cutouts).
The next year on the DS ride I hit something in the dust and sun. It bent it all the way back and it was resting on the water pump.
I took it off and bent it back & it's back on the bike.
Lesson: If you plan on riding in big rocks, better make sure it is very strong.
