Angry Now I've done it! Some Beach!

Dumped the bike going down a F.S. trail, ended up breaking my left ankle. I was by myself and no cell service, so at least I had all that going for me. Geeez! Fortunately I was only about 100 yards off a state hwy. Managed to scoot on my butt and using hands to get up to where I could flag someone down. Oh, before I bore you with the rest, the bike is okay, thankfully! Just a broken hand guard, some scratches and I haven't really looked to give more details. Anyway a good neighbor came up and started it and walked it back up to his truck, and there were no reported leaking fluids, etc. So after getting to the hospital with the xray's and all, I broke it in three places. Some Beach! Guess I get some time off from riding just when it gets to the best of the year. Oh, I've been down that some trail 20 times if once, you just never know when you're going to screw up! Still I'm blessed, it could've been a lot worse.
See my post below for additional details & answers as to what I "think" happened.

That looks painful even over the internet.

As best you can recall, what kind of crash gave you 3 breaks?

Well at least the bike doesn't have to undergo a medical bill of its own. That would be adding insult....to injury....too soon? Feel better.

Last time I went down, I messed up my ankle. It's been over a year, and it still hurts. But I learned a valuable lesson, and now I wear my MX boots every time I go riding!!!

Angry More details

Ya I had all the gear on, full/f helmet, good riding jacket & pants, gloves & Alpinstar Tech 2 boots. The boots are the mid-calf. Don't know if the full length would've saved me as my foot got spun around about 150 degrees. The breaks were all well covered and then some by the boot.
Here's what I "think" happened: Going down an area I've been on many times, (it's a bit challenging) at a "Y" mid way which I've done either way, I decided on right side, it had become somewhat "stepped" due to recent past rains. At about the 2nd or 3rd 8" or so step (1st gear, riding front brake slightly) with the downward/fwd motion I must have rolled (inadvertently) some throttle as I started to accelerate somewhat and increased braking. I don't think I rolled any throttle on but I don't know what else could've happened. Anyway ended up over high side to terrain, with left foot rolled around back under full weight of bike under torsion bar.
My point of posting is just as a reminder to be careful. The sport we love has some inherent risks.

Scary looking x ray!
I ride alone too, so I'm glad you were able to get help.
Get well soon
