Default not just another boot question

Good day,

I have to make my way to development/construction sites for meetings on a regular basis and I want a boot that is comfortable to ride with, as well as have the safety requirements (CSA in Canada, green patch, steel toe). I hate riding with the 'big toe' steel toe work boots and I'm thinking of these...Magnum Stealth.
Have any of you gone through this? ...and are you familiar with these boots. They are usually used by tactical folks, and are a bit pricey ($180 here) but they have the profile I'm looking for.

Hey Trevi

I've got a pair compliments of the army, and they are the most comfortable boots I've ever worn. The only issue I have with them is they are only water resistant. They'll stand up to a light shower, but if its anything heavier, you're looking at soggy socks. Fortunately because they have a lot of synthetic on them they dry a bit quicker.

Also, before you buy them, just make sure you have enough movement in the ankle... mine are fine, but I've heard some people have issues with flexing their foot in combat boots.

you could always ride in your normal footwear with boots in your backpack and swtich when you get there?

+1, I used them early on in the Marine Corps...very lightweight, sturdy, and above all comfortable.

This would be bad advice IF your normal footwear is street shoes (sounds like you MAY be an office-worker). If you go down on the street, you'll wish you were wearing SOME kind of boots! Just saying. . . .

+1 for that.... see the thread "A Very Long Weekend"... My mate thought he'd spend his boot money on a better helmet... with dire consequences...

Im a police officer in CT and wear magnum boots. they're ok, but i think u will be dissapointed with the quality. there not a bad boot, but not worth 180 bucks in my opinion. I dont have the steel toes, so maybe they're a little different...

I've had at least 7 pairs....Love em. I wouldn't pay $180 either. Matter of fact I won't pay over $50. Me, my wife, my son, and his girl use them for when we ride our street bikes all the time. They're a fine boot.

I had a pair of the Magnums and I was not impressed with them at all. They were not very well made and I didn't think they were all that comfortable. I know, I'm in the minority on this one and many of my co-workers wear them. The only duty boot I will now wear is Danner's. They are much better quality, more water resistant, and last at least four or five times longer than the Magnums.

Not to mention the ability and ease of sole replacement...not soul replacement, you'll have to go to church for that one!
