Excellent stuff, nobrakes! That's some serious A-loop riding. Thanks for sharing the adventure.

I hope to get out there next year with my 13-year-old. No way in hell will I bring the other two boys (8 and 6)...at least not yet. ;-)

Great write up, great photos, +1 on pictures being unable to show how steep things are, I know what you are talking about there. Looks like fun.

Great write up. Some really nasty trails, looked like a lot of fun and a good challenge. Ah to be young again.

You guys have to be insane trying to take those bikes up that #199. But it must be a nice feeling of accomplishment. I know guys who ride the Hatfield & McCoys every so often and they tell me that you'd better make sure your bike is maintained and in tip top shape before you go there.

I'd like to give those trails (some of them) a go one day. They're about 5hrs. away from where I live. Great ride report!

PS- How did you guys avoid getting lost on the trails? It looks like it would be pretty easy to get yourself 'turned around'.

Mike

Thanks guys, we had a great time and will definitely be back. The double black and high numbered single track trails were pretty challenging, especially trail 199, that thing was unbelievable. Everything else was easy by comparison, except that stair step section of 176. The black trails had some pretty steep sections which I thought were harder to come down than to go up, but neither gave any of us any problems. Personally I'd rather climb than descend, though we all agreed that trail 199 would have been easier descending than climbing.
