Brain,

Crashing is NEVER any fun.

Heal back up . . . . hope you're back up and running in time for Tour de Pisgah.

You'll be in our thoughts and prayers.

Thanks Marty - I'll be there if possible, but that may not be a sure thing now. If you need to make other plans w/regard to the cabin, I'll fully understand. TdP is looking a little up in the air for me right now, which sux because I was really looking forward to it.

Brian, so sorry. Take your time and heel up right. I get the pin out of my hand this week, but it will be several weeks 'till I can single track. Vicodin and Percocet have been my best freinds for the last five weeks. Got to luv these bikes.[sm=icon_rock.gif]

What happened to your hand, bro? I didn't even know you got injured. Wow - a pin sounds pretty serious, what happened?

Ouch. Sorry to read about your crash Brian. Get well soon.

It sounds like a bad one. I know it could have been worse but still, it made me shiver when I was reading about it.

I'm glad you could get yourself out.

I had a very similar crash back in January. Cracked a few ribs and broke my helmit.
We hired some TTR250's and went on an organised tour.
There was 5 of us so that helped but riding out was no fun at all.
Took 3 weeks to stop hurting and I was off to New Zealand for a holiday in 2.
Letter to self, Don't go white water rafting with cracked ribs.
Oh well, you only live once.

I am with you on the wife front.
My wife was not too happy about me getting a trail bike at all and after my crash!!
I thought she would pay out on me big time.
She is always reminding me that I'm 43 and not 23 and I need to stop acting like a young person.
But she was OK. Very concerned about me.
Well that lasted about 2 days and then back to, "there is no way you are getting a trail bike"
Well it took 8 months of convincing for her to agree that it was OK.
Now she is fine. Well not 100% but not so anti the whole thing.
I won't show her your post NoBrakes if you don't mind.

I remember years ago a freind of mine wrecked his knee while crossing a creek.
It took me 3 hours to get both bikes, him and I out of there and onto a track where he could ride out.
Less than a mile.
No electric leg in thoses days.

It can be a dangerous sport but that's part of why we do it, right?

Bike is fine - footpeg full of mud and handguard full of mud where it dug in, but other than that, it's hunky dory. I wasn't going that fast, just sort've a freak thing.
