Default night riding lession

IF YOU RIDE AT NIGHT, BRING A LIGHT!!!

well heres the story. i got sent home for some bs reason, picked up some beer on the way home. when i got home, i said screw it, im going for a night ride. after a few single track trails i dumped the bike a few times on a gnarly hill, and realized i bent the shifter. after i called a friend that lives in some houses near by, i rode in second about 10 miles to somewhere with light some i could bend the shifter back. HAD I HAD A LIGHT I COULD HAVE KEEP RIDING. just though some people would get a kick/lession out of this.

ya, but i didnt want to drop any of my tools and not find them. it was pitch *** dark, in a steep creek bed, and i was about done anyways. after that hill, i just lost all my energy picking the bike up the wrong way on a hill twice. oh ya, and i slid down the side of basicly a cliff, i think i need to get back there and show pics of where i was.

the hill, that rut it about the only spot with good traction, and a partially large stick just happen to be laying in it, and riding at night, didnt see it till it was to late.

the approch, showing the tight left before the climb. my bike is about a foot or so off the trail so i could put the stand down.

this is the top trail in the section. if you look to the left of the bush, you can see the slide risk. i knew it was there, but cus its fall, there was more leave than usual and need less to say i slid.

green is upper, red lower, so i slid on my side with the bike from green to red lol. at night, it was PITCH black that added to the oh shat factor.

this is the lower section the curve at the end it where the slide happend.

Many years ago (in the seventies) we ran a cross country race at night and it was totally unlighted except for the lights on the bikes. Part was on trails and part on an MX track. It was stopped after a great number of people were hurt. Guys still wanted to race but the promoter was spooked.

We have here a day/night trail/enduro ride organised by the local trail and enduro club.

I was looking forward to it this year but "stuff" came up and I couldn't make it.
Maybe next year.
