Nice ride today!
Been riding on the street alittle more lately and had a just perfect weather day 70 and sunny. Fooling around some I was seeing if this thing will pull some long wheelies. 1st gear almost loops out because it just snaps up, 2nd gear just powers up for all of 2nd, 3rd gear is the same as 2nd!
This is where this was getting fun 4th gear at about 45 mph it just powers up and ride it out. I was pretty shocked so I stopped and rode 1st thru 5th to about 55 mph, now this was out in the middle of nowhere so I could be pretty safe from traffic. Most of my riding is always in sand so this was a nice change of pace. On my way home at a light in Trenton on the other side of the street there was another klx 250 never saw another one before. Looks kind of cool on the street.

Good deal, 45 mpg isn't too bad considering every time you whack the throttle a jet of raw fuel is squirted in there. At a steady throttle running 55-65 mph I'd bet it would still run low to mid 50's mpg. My current setup has returned 62 mpg on the last 4 tanks. One day of mostly trails and hammering on it returned 44 mpg, other than that I get mid 50's.
You've got me thinking that I might go with the 36 carb after going with a big bore instead of a pipe. The stock 300 pipe flows quite well, in fact I'm running a 130 main with the airbox lid on and on a WOT plug chop it shows a nice clean burn. Besides, that will let the FMF Q4 owners get some more miles on and report on durability and packing life.

I can't get mine to come up in forth at all. If I ride out third then change to forth it just drops down like I hit the breaks. I could see it if I had the big bore and the gearing you have. Sounds like fun! I love finding long desolate roads to do wheelies on.
Yeah when it was stock it took everything I had to ride to 3rd gear and that wasn't all the time. Now with everything, I never have to use the clutch to get it up, it makes the bike way more fun to me! Oops I said get it up.
