Don't forget to look at the underside of the frame. If it's all bashed up it's been hardcore off roading. Dings / bent wheels radiators $$.

A quick check to see if it's been tampered with is to look for the emissions plug on the carb (axcess to the fuel adjustment screw) there will be a cap over it from factory. Also look for the air pump hoze at the front of the valve cover. I'm not saying it's bad to re-jet but you'll know someone messed with it.
