Ahem! Well let me put the blame firmly in the 'pioneer's' lap. As far as I know, Nobrakes started the whole idea of Renazco on KLX250S. Now, he was led astray by some orange machine before his build date, but that's beside the point.

Not that I'm complaining though. The difference in comfort is like night and day. I havent found the new shape to be any problem at all. The suede should give just enough grip without getting extreme like one of those gripper covers.

Did you get the normal or low cut?

I've been wanting to get one those nice Renazco seats. But now I can't find a reason to it except to cure monkey butt.
Haha! Well it's not a big deal unless you log a lot of slab time. I do enough pavement miles where 'monkey but' morphs into an 800lb gorilla. Bicycle shorts and tossing powder up the ol wazzu are extra things that I don't want to deal with on a continual basis. Everyone's situation is a bit different though.

Agreed. Maybe in the spring after taxes will I get to look forward to a new seat. Until then, winter is moving in and I'm being called insane for still riding in the freeze climate.

Have to say that's enough reason for me. My two biggest beefs about stock configuration are the ironwood saddle and the woefully inadequate front springs.

While I understand that Kawi markets this same basic design all over the world I still can't figure out why they couldn't/wouldn't slightly modify the seat and front spring for "Western" (with all due respect to our Aussie/Kiwi members) markets. As shipped, the KLX is set up for an Asian teenager. Last I checked, I haven't been 120lbs since 8th grade, and I 'm not a big guy.

How much more could it cost, on a large manufuacturing scale, to put stiffer springs and a better seat on the KLX? A few bucks? I'm in, but I doubt it will happen. Meanwhile those who want to upgrade - excuse me, correct - this shortcoming have to spend some serious coin.

Sorry for the rant, I'm off my meds....

WRR? Keep us posted. It will be interesting to see the new shape on that one.

Supposedly the front springs are pretty easy to replace. Besides personal gear I have made it a vow that I am not allowed to upgrade anything else on my bike until I do the front springs.
