New rear end
Check it out ...
I inset the stock blinkers a bit so they don't stick out as far.
With this layout, I think I can add an LED license plate light directly inside the tail light aiming out the bottom to illuminate the light.
I'm liking this fender and style better than the stock. I'm not sure how I'll like losing the rear rack, but we'll see about that. I now have a nice Wolfman tank bag so the rack can probably be dispensed without me missing it. Plus, if you've ever taken it off, it's like a solid steel boat anchor.
I made the brackets out of 1/8" thick aluminum flat stock.

Nice design! Good way to preserve your Brake! LED tail light investment, too!

Good job, just looking real quick a few things come to my mind, plate and brake light will get douched with mud everytime you go in it... and if you lay it down it looks like ya might damage a rear turn signal.... but besides those it looks good, i do like the look of the rear fender, but i wanted to get all of my lights out of "muds" way thats why i put it all ontop of the fender... but i like it[sm=bling.gif]

Thanks for the feedback. I've sealed the connections with silicone sealant so dousing shouldn't hurt anything. Do you think the turn signals are more exposed than the stock ones? I'll see how it works out - I didn't cut or otherwise modify anything that would preclude going back to the stock parts, but I doubt I will go back. If anything, I'll tweak this setup to overcome any unforeseen limitations.

well, since you're looking for feedback, here's mine. I do admire your neverending quest to make your bike as personal as you can. But I personally do not care for the new rear fender though. It's kind of hard to get the whole jist of it w/out the tank and sidepanels. But, I think it looks like a wannabe early '90's KX now w/a taillight and blinkers and an 18" rear wheel. One thing I like about the KLX is it's distinct look which it gets with the many angled rear fender. IMO, your setup makes the rear end look like someone's face that just hit a wall- as it to me looks all jimmied and messed up like it just doesn't belong there. Bottom line to me is I think you've went too far back there as too much underneath is showing. But the main thing is that you like it.

Nobrakes looks good. I think once it's all back together it will look great! Not to get off topic, But what tire are you running on the rear? I like the looks of it.[sm=smiley20.gif]

Nice fender it looks more like a mx bike that's the look am going for .
