Question New Plastics

Looking for black plastics for my '09 KLX250S, and it's outrageous from the dealership. Any aftermarket out there yet? I can't find anything. Or a bolt on fuel tank (besides Bill's) for the '09.

you'll have to get them from a 2009SF(like mine). No aftermarkets are available.

I got an 06 that I put a used black klx300 tank on (which can hold 2.6 gallons) and then used cheap black aftermarket klx300 plastic .....works for me. I also used a cheap guts racing high seat foam and cover.

This pic is a little old but you get the idea. May not be the best looking....but it sure looks better than any plastic you paint.

Oh...klx300 plastic is REALLY cheap.

Hey Finger,
Can you clarify. . . . . is that a used OEM fuel tank or aftermarket tank for a KLX 300 and how is the fit? Fuel petcock interfere with any other part of the bike? Does the seat-to-tank area fit like it should or is there that nasty gap we see on other type of aftermarket tanks? Thanks . . . . .

I'm pretty sure that klx300 plastics do not fit nor look good on the 09s..

sure, it's a stock OEM black klx 300 tank. The stock 250 seat pan fits snug and perfect...the petcock is attached to the tank, unlike ours which is attached to the frame.....no clearance issues. 2.6 gallons and cheap plastic.

I used aftermarket Mairer shrouds, side panels and rear with a baja designs taillight. You got to heat gun the Mairer side panel on the battery side to bend it because the 300 has no battery....but thats easy.

Oh Dready, the 09 has the same frame as an 06 no? It all fits fine...sorry you don't think it looks good ..... I could care less about the opine of a non do'er.

No seat gap Magoo

The frame does look very close, but gas tanks are I no go from what I hear on the '09s. Any '09 owners try the plastics?

I had to look it up....the 09 Frame is a different part # than the 06-07...that sucks. Hope someone makes some aftermarket stuff for you guys.

What I found even more odd is that the California 09 klx model has a different frame # than the US/Canadian model....thats crazy.
