Default New pipe and Jet kit coming Questions

Ok so I've got my DJ kit and an HMF pipe coming in hopefuly next week. That's really all I want to do as far as mods go besides the air, so my question is with this setup should I remove the lid completely, drill holes or ....?

It really depends on what size jet and what needle position you are going to use. I'm in Keller so you can look at my sig and see what I did. I have tried both snorkle in, out and air box lid removed and just having the snorkle out was what worked best for me.

I wouldn't think so. You may have to play with the air/fuel mixture screw a little.

San Angelo?...TX? You're only about 90 miles south of me. On the jetting, we're at about 1500-1700 here in Abilene. I jet for spot-on optimum performance here, and when I go to CO and UT for 2 or 3 weeks at a time, I don't change the jetting all the way to 13,000 feet plus. You can only tell it's a bit rich when you're approaching the summit of something like Imogene outside of Telluride/Ouray area. Our CV carbs do a lot better for compensating. Where do your ride in our area?

Just removing the snorkel will be enough can leave the lid on.. I cant stand the airbox noise so I got a KDX snorkel hope that helps

North and South Twin Buttes usually, I've been to Bronte once. Really need to get out with htose guys more, but I want to get the bike set up better before I hit it hard.

Yeah, Bronte is a great place to ride. It's fairly gnarly in many places. I didn't like my KLX out there nearly as much as I do now with the Race Tech revalve front and rear. I'm heading out to Moab at the end of the month. You need to drag your KLX out there too.
