Default New owner...

Hi, all.

Just bought a KLX250 this evening. Of course, since I rode to the dealership I didn't actually ride the new bike home tonight...it's sitting in the service garage at the dealership! [:'(] Doh! I'll be walking over 'dere tomorrow to ride it back.

Bought the bike to be my daily commuter bike/dirt toy. I have a BMW F650GS I use as my daily commuter and ocassional long-distance "tourer." The KLX will take me to places where I don't want to take my F650GS. My Nissan XTerra just...sits there.

I want eventually make it into a SuperMoto by swapping out the wheels and tires but I suppose I should at least get through the break-in period before I start modding it.

Just rode it back from the dealer. I took the "scenic route" home and turned the 1 mile walk into a 7 mile ride back. I had to control myself to keep it under 4000RPM but it was still a hoot to ride around the neighborhood. The bike is so light compared to my F650GS...I was just flicking it left and right and the grin factor kept going up and up. I've got to get this thing broken-in so I can really crank it up! Here' the new toy...

Yup its a light fun little toy. I did the mototune (hard) breakin with no problems, just one tank with LOTS of acceleration and deceleration followed by an oil change. Go ahead and get a pipe, do the basic mods and take her in the sand/mud and get her dirty. Dirty girls are good.

I got 6500 miles and it looks almost that clean. Went riding today and the leaves on a quad trail played havoc with my Kenda tires.
