I have the FMF Powercore 4 also and the turn signals are fine stock. The instructions that came with it said no jetting required and I installed it without any changes to the carb and the power boost was good and it ran fine. It did increase the popping on decelleration which can be an indication of it being lean. I then installed the Dynojet kit for the 09 and pulled the snorkle out of the airbox and just followed the instructions that came with that kit for that type of install and it totally stopped the popping and runs even better. Between the two the pipe alone gave the biggest boost but the correct jetting didn't hurt. I then ordered the FMF Powerbomb header and it gave a bigger boost than the jet kit did. So I'm pretty happy with my results, the bike is twice as peppy as it was stock and sounds pretty good to.

Default Welcome!

Hello and Welcome
I picked up my klx250 a couple months ago. This forum is jam packed with great recommendations. Spend some time reading the stickys and FAQs and you'll find some fantastic threads. It really is worth the effort, IMHO

If you're looking for sound, I don't think there's any way around it. You'll get more air flow and will need more fuel flow to match.

I have a slip on HMF that I picked up on the cheap on line. I like the sound! Your stock bike is running lean, so if you give it more air flow with opened up muffler ===>>> you'll get more lean, dangerously so from what they say here. Don't burn it up. Get larger jets (more fuel) and open up the breather (delete air box lid or get a larger snorkel) to match up with more air flow, and the power that results will bring a big grin

Do your research and ask questions. It's all good!

Congrats on the new bike.
Dan

Thanks!

I'm surprised how quiet the Q4 sounds in the link but that bike is still using the stock header. I'm actually leaning towards the Two Bros right now based upon my "research" of sound clips. But that could change by this afternoon.

Yeah, I know sound and power gains do not go hand in hand. Looking just for sound so cars can hear me... I hope.
I'm not worried about cars hearing me. I'm worried about them SEEING me.

Ah.... but that's the point of the sound -- for when they don't see you because their cell phone is in the way.

I have a similar philosophy to you mate. I do what I can to make sure I don't have to rely on my own evasive maneuvers - reflective vest, bright green bike, and loud pipe. The loud pipe is particularly useful when you are in the cars blind spots.
