Sorry but if I step up its a 450 or 510 husky @ 239lbs dry, just no competition.

You'll think that while you'reona trek tonearest dealer. Even if you're lucky enough to have a dealer in your area, you will pay out the azz for parts.

I think the KLX450 will give that Husky a run for it's money. The KX450F engine and chassis that it's based upon is no slouch. Combine that with the fact that 99.9% of the members of this forum (yes, including me) cannot come close toeither bike's limit and the difference in off-road performance becomes
negligible. It's just a shame that no dual sport version is on the horizon as of yet.

If Kawasaki were to make a KLX450S, the choice would be a no brainer for me. The only thing I would choose over that is if Yamaha decided to dual sport the WRX450.

Two KLX450R's sold in my City. < klx450r.net >We are both having them street legal from the dealer. God I hope they show up soon. Snow is starting to melt i need to ride. So far no one has taken delivery of these new bikes. I will post a report as soon as my bike shows up.

I still maintain the KLX250 is a great bike. I am keeping one of ours for my wife and she just loves it. I would have no problem taking the KLX250 anywhere. The KLX 250 great bike but it is what it is and after spending $1000.00 on upgrades i could not see spending another $2,000 to make it faster.

One of each.... the best of both worlds.

Doesn' t work for me unless they dual sport it from the factory. Conversions dont fly here.

was checkin out the pics.. looks like a sweet bike, tho it looks like it has serious lack of protection for the front of the engine case.

The reliability of the Husky means you probably won't even need parts. They don't break. Cycle World's best pick for dual-sport motorcycle. Plus, the world championships are infinite. jmo
That is the most rediculous statement I've heard from you yet. Like any other motorcycle on the planet, they will break. If you have the diposable income to replace the expensive parts and'high end componentry' I guessit's not a big worry. I stand by what I said in that 99.9% of the riders in this forum willnever fully use all of the power and capabilities of that bike OR that of the KLX450.They are paying the extra money to say 'look what I got; it's a HuskAprilliaKaboom; it can do this; just look at the specs; Don't it look perty!I don't mean to pretend that I'm completely immune.

If I had enough money not to sweat such things, I figure I might as well look good while in indulging inmy modern day Walter Middy fantasy. That Arillia is HOT[8D]

That's what I'm talkin about. I'd get the motard version though. Husky, KTM or whatever...most of the people I ride with would be hard pressed to hang.
