New KLX250sf, my first tard!
So I ended up selling my Ninja 650r on eBay after trying unsuccessfully to pimp it on the Kawasaki forums. Anyway, the proceeds from the sale went toward my 2009 KLX250sf...it was an MSF bike with 250 miles on it and the first service performed. After adjusting to how painfully slow it was compared to my last two bikes, the 650r and an older Aprilia RSV Mille, I'm having a blast on it. It's literally like riding a mountain bike that can keep up on the freeway. MPG and range was a little disappointing though...50-55 miles per gallon during break-in. Maybe a larger Acerbis tank is in order.
Anyhow, after I hit 600 miles and change the oil I'm planning to thrash the motor until I get the 351cc kit from Bill Blue later this summer. Anyone here have a 351 installed? At $1000 with the pumper carb, is it any cheaper that just doing an engine swap? Seems like it would be pretty easy to cram a small 2-stroke into the frame, add a trailtech vapor and machine a few mounting brackets.
Any reviews on the FMF Q4?

Welcome..
I will be getting a 351 kit soon.. but without the pumper..
I just bought an HMF pipe for my bike and I am actually looking to sell it..
It hasn't even been on the bike while its running (just want a shorter pipe)

Congrats on the new bike! I always liked the SF- I remember drooling over the D-Tracker, buying my S and then the SF came out.
The FMF Q4 is excellent- more power, great tone, but not overbearing. If you install that, remove the smog equipment, deal with the airbox snorkle and put in a high flow filter, rejet and go down a tooth in the front or up a couple in the rear (I did 3) you will have a totally different bike. It's not a BB 351, but it's pretty affordable.
