Thanks fred. I have a set of bars on the way and re-using my hdb guards.

 

Another thing your going to have to do is make sure you can get the key in the ignition switch. If your HDB handguards use the supplied top clamp it blocks the ignition switch. I had a 1 1/2 inch half circle cut in the clamp to allow access to the switch.

 

Yep, I posted a similar pic on advrider. Its not as easy as factory but I can still use the key with gloves on.
