Default New guy,old question (I'm sure).

Hi guys.I'm new here and I'm looking for some performance tips for my KLR 250. I see in some of the posts that some of you own a KLX 250 and a KLR 250.I'd like to know what jets to run with the spark arrester removed. My buddy took it out but it didn't run right (Too lean?).I put it back in and it is better now.I'm also wondering about exhaust.I just want a little more power/torque.Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Ok here's what I would do, go to the Kawasaki shop and ask them for the KLX 250S LOL just kidding, just trying to get you to come to the dark side. But actually I am looking for a KLR in really good shape as a backup bike. Good luck and welcome.

Actually I'm going bigger next year so the KLX 250 won't work.I hear they are superb bikes though.I just want to get some more power going on for the KLR this summer.I've always big thumpers (400 and up). This is my first 250 and it seems a little, well, under powered.I would have gone bigger this year but I got a pretty good deal on the KLR.

Anybody ever try an FMF universal muffler?I can get one of those at a reasonable price. Then there is the Q2.More money, but worth it?

deej, what kind of helmet are you wearing with your child? it looks like it matches quite well. is it the hjc ac3? thanks
Travis
I got mine free at the bike shop with my bike, and bought a second matching helmet at the shop as well, one that happens to fit both my son and my wife.....for now. I did find the same helmet on the motorcycle superstore. here's the link.

Another place you can get some info is klr650.net. They are good people over there and I know a number of them have the KLR250. They might be able to answer any questions you may have.
